The donation comes after Publix launched several initiatives in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, including a program to purchase milk and produce from Florida farms and send it to Feeding America food banks.
Organizations serving communities in Publix’s Southeast footprint may submit requests online for grants, donations, gift cards, sponsorships, giveaways or program ads.
Publix Charities has also collaborated with the United Negro College Fund in the past to provide provide $100,000 in scholarships to 50 minority students attending the selected schools.
In addition to funding made directly to education projects and initiatives, Publix gives to various universities and colleges’ food pantries to support students’ basic needs.
